We offer a range of opportunities for schools.
We are able to offer a range of new opportunities to schools to help you achieve greater sustainability and recycling targets.
A visit to the Scrapstore will introduce children to re-use as an important element of your environmental action plan. Seeing at first hand the materials that are discarded by businesses, how they are collected and passed on through the Scrapstore. The visit will broaden the student’s understanding of waste streams and the importance of re-use over recycling.
Art sessions can also be devised for the children or teachers to support environmental or arts activity or professional development programmes.
Primary schools
Visits can be arranged for up to 30 children with their teachers to explore the topic of re-use. Learn more
Secondary schools
Secondary schools are also welcome to contact us to discuss student visits. The cost of a visit is negotiated once the details are known.
Reclaimed Garden
The garden has been designed on a Gaudi theme constructed entirely with reclaimed materials. Learn more
Inset Days
We offer a range of options for schools based on a 'Core Visit' to the Centre. This gives teachers the time to explore our services in depth with a member of the staff on hand. In addition an art session can be arranged on a topic of the school's choice. Alternatively a meeting room can be provided if teachers wish to work together under their own volition. Lunches and refreshments can be organised to make your day complete!
Contact a member of staff to discuss what you need and we’ll do the rest. The cost of an Inset Day is determined once your requirements are known.
